No longer just a conversion kit for the Nitro RS4 3, this is a newly designed, ready-to-run, pre-assembled nitro-powered car that is ideal for the drift fanatic or racing fan! Choose the Nissan Silvia S15 body or the muscular Toyota Soarer to suit your style, they're both pre-painted, pre-trimmed, pre-applied decals, and both come with chrome Volk TE-37 wheels and drift tires for authentic JDM drift looks. The RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift is ideal for the beginner to intermediate RC hobbyist because it is fully assembled right out of the box, with pre-glued tyres and pre-painted bodyshell. All that's required to get rolling is fuel, AA batteries and a glow plug igniter (see the bottom of the kit page for all support equipment needed to properly run the car). In just a few minutes, you can be watching the excellent HPI DVD instructions and getting your car driving around in about half an hour!
All-new Drift-Optimised Chassis Layout
Underneath the cool street style of any top drift machine is loads of power, and the Nitro 3 Drift is no different: the power of the mighty HPI Nitro Star G3.0 engine gives you all the horsepower you want for huge top speeds and long tyre-smoking power slides in every turn! The chassis layout has been completely revised by the HPI Japan design team for optimal drifting. The engine and center gearbox have been moved forward to help the car rotate smoothly, and special shock springs are tuned for drifting. Type A drift radial tires are included, featuring a hard compound rubber for controllable high speed nitro drifting.
Chassis
The RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift has many of the features found on our popular RTR Nitro RS4 3 Evo+, making it a great choice for car parking drifters. The tough 4WD shaft drive system keeps the drivetrain running smoothly even on surfaces that aren't completely free of rocks. The enclosed receiver & battery box keeps the electronics protected from the elements, and with its easy removal from the chassis clean-up is a snap. A stiff purple anodized aluminium 2.5mm chassis prevents flex for consistent handling and extra durability.
The all-new, specially designed drift chassis positions the engine as far forward in the chassis as possible, giving the RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift unbeatably realistic handling. Combine this with a durable 4WD shaft drivetrain, your car will quick acceleration and manoeuvrability and poise as you drift through the corners!
Suspension
The RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift uses the same suspension as the kit-build Nitro 3 18SS+, so it is tough, fully adjustable and loaded with features. Tough nylon suspension arms, hubs and uprights, combine with steel hinge pins to form the main parts of the suspension. The tough parts and components can handle the strain of the engine and the speeds that you can hit.
Easily adjustable steel turnbuckles form the upper link of the dual-wishbone suspension. Composite oil-filled shock absorbers are fitted with special HPI drift springs for smooth control and consistent handling. A smooth ride lets the power get to the ground from the 4WD shaft drivetrain, and also gives you consistent control because all four wheels can stay on the ground. The low stance of the car enhances the control at all points around the track or car park, so you'll have full confidence to slam the car in a long powerslide at each corner!
Engine
Power comes from the potent HPI Nitro Star G3.0 nitro engine (.18 Cu. In.), with more than 2 horsepower and 32,000 RPM on tap for tyre-smoking drift action! A large diameter aluminium tube manifold and an all-new rear exhaust muffler system routes the engine smoke out the back of the car for scale realism and clean operation. The G3.0 is also equipped with a pullstarter for quick and easy starting.
A sturdy pull starter system, oiled air filter, 2-needle carburettor, aluminium flywheel, strong steel clutchbell and aluminium tube manifold complete the power delivery package, making the G3.0 easy to start, run and maintain!
Drivetrain
The drivetrain used in the RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift is protected from rocks and other debris by a solid shaft-drive system. From its first use on an off-road, big-tyre truck, the HPI Nitro 4WD system has been refined and perfected over several generations of HPI cars and trucks. From the clutchbell and spur gear set, all the way to the drive axles, this is one of the most solid drivetrain sets you can find in RC!
Large 1M (1 Module) gears spin the single-speed transmission, which gives you fingertip throttle control as you slide around the curves. It also lets you get up to speed fast so you can pound the corners one after another! Centre dogbone shafts drive the front and rear sealed bevel gear differentials, splitting power through heavy duty outdrives which drive the super drift Type A tyres. The 4WD shaft drivetrain in the RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift is as solid as you can find anywhere, and is tough enough to take the power of the G3.0 engine and not worry about any debris wherever you may run!
Scale Realism
With all the attention to detail in the RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift package, the full effect is taken in when the car is fired up and is screaming around the turns! The brightly painted bodyshell gleams with decals from authentic drift sponsors and wild custom graphics. A sweet 3-D style racing wing completes the bodyshell and gives the car massive rear downforce. Treaded hard compound HPI Type A Drift Radials are wrapped around replica chrome Volk TE37 wheels for a bright and flashy finish to the outer look of the car.
The loud and powerful Nitro Star G3.0 engine that will turn heads everywhere you go! Sounding like a real car engine and even pumping exhaust from the rear of the bodyshell just like a full-size drift machine, the RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift will impress anyone who watches it in action!

Electronics
The reliable and sturdy HPI TF-1 radio controls the RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift, giving you ultimate control in a realistically designed radio! The steering wheel design makes you feel as if you're actually driving the car, and the trigger-style throttle and brake controls provide you with finger-sensitive action when accelerating and stopping! The radio transmitter features interchangeable frequency crystals, servo reverse switches, a retractable aerial with sliding cover, easy access to radio adjustments and simple battery replacement.
Taking the signals from the transmitter, the HPI RF-1 receiver uses standard RC connectors to send your control signals to the SF-1 steering servo, which controls the steering, and the throttle/brake servo, which is again an HPI SF-1. You get long-range, reliable connections between your transmitter and car with the RF-1 receiver and dependable control from the SF-1 servos!
Because all of the electronics are standard-size RC components with standard connectors, any or all of the components can be upgraded at any time, or moved into a different RC vehicle in the future. The RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift will accept any RC receiver battery pack designed for nitro-powered cars and any standard-size servo.
